(Video) Need Heat? Here is an Easy DIY Way to Get It!

DIY heat

In many areas of the country, warm temperatures are a mainstay, which is why snow birds from Florida bundle up when folks from Minnesota still are running around in t-shirts and shorts.

Some areas of the country, however, get cold – very cold; this Tea Light/Planter heater is one way in a pinch to beat the cold!

Having tried a variation of the experiment the guy in the video did, I can attest to the effectiveness of this type of “heater.”

It is amazing how much heat those little candles put out over the course of hours.

That said, in a survival situation where power is out and cold is an issue, it is a very effective way of making sure at least on that front, you make it through safely.

I’ve done this and it works the only downside is you have to be in a small room.

Be careful….some of these pots have a coating which is flammable. I speak from first hand experience.

This is NOT safe! The materials used are NOT heat rated! The candle wax can get so hot that all of the wax can flash to steam, steam that will flash into flame. DO NOT make nor use this device!

Made 6 of these last year. Put 4 tea light candles under each of the 6 double pot heaters and they really do heat the pots up and produces radiator type heat. Will work great in a pinch. You can get 100 tea light candles for under $4.00. Right now I’m using them to take the chill out of the air in downstairs hobby room. It’s better than turning up the heat and paying higher electric bills.

Living in Florida I do not see the need but will certainly remember this and pass it on to people up north.
