Zip ties are excellent resources for everyone from the handyman to the outdoorsman and are a great thing to pack and keep on hand in every bug out bag and survival kit. However, in the hands of someone with ill intent, like those who are looking to take what is yours, zip ties can quickly become your worst enemy.

If you find yourself bound by zip ties, an obvious solution will be to have a knife or scissors somewhere on your person when you are bound. However, assuming your attacker found your stashed blade, you'll need a trick to get that zip tie off ASAP.

If your attacker locked you in a room, you could then use the zip tie to unlock the door and get yourself to safety.
