There are, of course, many different ways to get a fire started out in the wilderness. Some are more successful than others.

One very useful tool is to have a small fire striker in your arsenal. If you have the right strike you can get that campfire going in minutes and it really is not as difficult as some might think.

As a matter of fact, for both beginners and the seasoned survivalists, the tips given in the video on page two are quite attention-grabbing.

You can look at her counselling as a great tip, especially if you’ve never tried the “knife and strike” method before. Or, if you’ve used this method previously and often you can reflect on it. Maybe it’s time to get in a little practice with your fire creating skills.
