[VIDEO] Learn How to Whip a Rope to Stop Fraying

whip a rope

Have you ever tried to stuff the end of a frayed rope through a hole that is too small? It is a pain in the neck and often times you end up sheering part of the rope and pulling on its guts to make it go through.

That is not good for the rope and escalates the fraying. Fray enough and a one inch bit of frayed rope quickly becomes six inches. Then you can forget about using that rope for anything.

Enlarged fraying is also achieved by not addressing the initial fray in a timely manner.

Eventually, if left untreated, the fray in the rope will compromise the integrity of the rope or, at least, any knots you try and tie. It may not seem like a big deal if you have other ropes on hand, however, over time you will eventually run out of ropes.

That is why this amazing way of stopping the fraying at the point of the fray, in its tracks, is something you have to learn if you use rope at all.
