We have always said that gardening is one of the best things for a self sufficient person can do for themselves. AKA – when the grid goes down you still have food.

And knowing what we do now through our research and lifestyle, we've learned that people around the world have have created and and maintain their vegetable gardens and how effective it is.

Our host in today's video is very eager to illustrate what a little compost and mulching can do in her unique “tank garden”.

She shares with us what techniques she has used, including adding straw mulch, newspaper and cardboard, as well as grasses and branches to her soil. Then, of course, there is always that old stand-by cow manure which she is not ashamed to say she uses quite often in her garden.
