Knowing how to tie sound knots is one skill that everyone will at some point use and if you spend time in the wilderness, camping, fishing, hunting or even just doing yard work, is something you will constantly use.

Knots are essential for securing and hauling things, but there is nothing more frustrating and possibly dangerous than having a knot fail because you poorly tied it.

You do not, for instance, want to rely on a poorly tied knot if you are scaling a cliff and relying on that knot to keep you secured on your way up or down.

You also do not want a knot to fail if you are securing containers to the roof of your car or are hauling something.
