You may have never considering rubbing your car's windshield with steel wool, but it's something you may want to seriously try.

We admit you may be a little hesitant to try this and we can't say we blame you. It seems like a bad piece of advice that's passed around from generation to generation.

The trick to using steel wool is to find one with superfine wires. This is actually one trick that car detailers use and when you learn to master this method you'll be wishing you knew how to do this earlier.

    Been doing it for years. After scrubbing crap off use windex and news paper for a clean streak free window.

    Make sure it’s thin wire steel wool. And you have to wash the vehicle after it it will leave rust

    Don’t spend the money people 80 grit sand paper works just as well.

    Has to be the fine steel wool but you can clean glass and it also works on anything chrome

    When i worked at a car detailing center a long time ago we used steel wool to clean windshields. It makes em brand new!

    The thing they DON’T say in the article is….If you DO NOT wash off ALL of the wool particles…they will get EVERYWHERE, embed themselves in your car paint and rust and discolor your paint!!

    Was skeptical myself, until I did a job in the detail shop of the local Mercedes dealership. Used really fine 0000 steel wool and kept it lubricated with window cleaner.
