In the event of a disaster, the biggest priority is locating a safe place to take shelter. Think about instances like Hurricane Katrina, where thousands of individuals were left to the elements after losing their homes.
The housing options needed to be safe, sturdy, and cost effective for such a massive group of people. Many current options have their disadvantages: tents are portable and light weight, but not the most secure, while larger and more durable shelters are often expensive and more difficult to transport.
So what’s the best alternative?
Whether you’re looking for a bug out shelter, or you’ve lost your home to a disaster, the same qualities are important: something that is durable, cost-effective, safe, and comfortable enough to be a temporary home.
Take a look at the video on the next page to determine if these shelters are the best option!

Maybe good for natural disasters but not good for terrorism. You’d be a sitting duck
Looks like a zombie lunchbox to me.
When shtf, movement is survival! Unless you can put it in a backpack and carry with you. Bug out, no! Thats more like a cabin
Can it be hid under ground?
In some remote area? Maybe. But the AC needs to be on the roof. Also needs firing ports. Maybe a gun turret on the roof.
Is it bullet and RPG proof??? No thanks, more of a portable target that says “Hey!!! I got lots of gear and food here!!! Shoot me up and take it all”
Check this out Timothy D Perryman… it’s not a fort but better than a tent.
Looks pretty cool . I wonder what the weight is on one of those things.
Good question, haven’t looked into it yet.
Nope!! It’s above ground!!!
Missing ports to SHOOT out of!!!
Bahahaha, Easy target.
Tents much better?
I’m thinking cheap option to toss on a trailer and go camping.
In a bugout situation mobility is the key.you have to keep moving. This thing looks way too difficult to move .I’m with Bobby if it won’t fit in my backpack so I can move quickly .i don’t want it.
Where’s the red paint ? And the sign that says ” come take my stuff and kill me “
I’m thinking a 40′-45′ diesel pusher RV
Tobie Ray Dawe
Let’s choose where we’re going to die box?
Can it fit in my back pack?? Then it doesn’t qualify as a bug out accessory:) sorry charlie. Its a nice little shelter though.
Probably with proper bracing
Watched the video. They did not show me much. Just some goy running his gums.
I’m not feeling the love for this one. I thought it was at least buried. Would need some serious camouflage. Is, there internal power? Does have that come hither look.
Looks like my spot in the woods
Will it keep a bear out.
If I can’t pack it in my “Bugout” wagon, then it’s useless.
My Bugout is bare essentials that I can pull in my wagon. Bugout Bag, guns, bow, cooler and tent.
Bugout is when you have to pack and relocate in a hurry.
I don’t know if I could do this. I believe God would want me to fight with my fellow man to defeat the evil. Then God’s Army would be million strong and could fight that evil
Garbage for the lemmings.
That ac unit really speaks volumes about this idea lol I guess if and when shtf somebody forgot to tell these people electricity will be very scarce
My bug out shelter Mississippi style.
That way you’re moving into
There are so many reasons why this is junk I’m not even going to bother wasting my time listing them all.
Sitting Duck
Oh my. What will we do when the AC unit wears out. We will perish for sure.
Great for after a disaster such as tornado, earthquake, etc where the need for housing if paramount…not so great for bugging out…kinda contradictory to the term “bugging out”….
no sustainability is survival
Mark Hunter get a shovel!
Make a hole, place tarp over!
Itll sure save your life in a pinch
Norbert Konrad Borowski
Patrick Swift
Might as well just buy a camper
Naw, don’t want anything above ground !!! It’s gonna get hot up above !!!
Falk here’s your private bunker for all possible and impossible upcoming events and badabäm 😉
Cube structures to support weight need lots of load bearing walls or columns. A dome below ground the wight is held by exterior walls and pushed down directly to ground and foundation. Thus can make shelter as big and as open as want without columns
Here’s an idea. http://Www.monolithic.org/domes
Is it mobile? Is it hidden under ground? Does it have motion sensor flaming death spikes? Then no…not perfect
Indeed
Here’s one underground dome home.
http://www.monolithic.org/homes/featured-homes/the-invisible-dome-home
This man encased his dome home in rock that by the end added up to 370 tons of weight. This was done to aide in appearance with an added bonus of insulation. The home took this weight in stride (740,000 pounds)

Flaming death spikes can always be added. But a good enough underground house not require mobility in my opinion.

Might as well a tent, at least you can still move. I’d like to see you backpacking this s**t
