There are a lot of fire starting techniques out there and if you are a prepper or a survivalist you probably know a good many of them. However, this one is something we have never seen before and it’s pretty darn clever!

The video on the following page shows you how to put together a fire piston from a MagLight. We have to admit, we immediately grabbed our own MagLight and examined it while our hosts talked about the procedure. It is really very easy and I think nearly anyone can do it! Oh, and in case you are worried about the expense we actually saw MagLight (actually an off-brand) of this same height and width at a local discount store!

So, even for just an experiment, this is a great project for you and other members of your responsible prepping family!
