[VIDEO] How To Tie A Bowline Knot

Knowing how to tie a secure knot is a lost art form. If you watch most people, they rely on the principle of the more mediocre knots the better, which is not only unreliable, it also wastes time after you are done towing what you need to tow unraveling each knot.

If you are not careful, you can create a knot that literally will take hours to untangle. The bowline knot is a knot that our military teaches for underwater knot tying, specifically, in Basic Underwater Demolition / SEALS training (BUDS.)

Historically, the bowline knot has been used for centuries and primarily was used to hold a square sail towards the bow of a ship.

It is an easy knot to master with a few practice tries and simple in both design and complexity, but very reliable.

The video on the next page shows you step-by-step how to tie a reliable bowline knot.
