Birch sap runs very smoothly in the spring, much like maple sap. While many people are hustling to collect sap for maple syrup, very few know the excellent taste and just how easy it is to tap a birch tree for its sap. Learn how in the video below.

While I wouldn't necessarily chug a bottle of the stuff (it's super high in sugars and would probably not make you feel 100%), this sap makes for an excellent boost while hiking or camping or can be used to add some carbs to your water for more energy.
