Part of any good survival kit is a plethora of ways to get a fire going. Whether its matches, lighters, flint, and steel, or magnesium sticks, having a variety of fire starting options is essentially the core of most bug out and survival kits.

It occasionally happens that these methods fail, though. Lighters can leak out their fuel, matches can get wet, and often flint and steel will simply refuse to work for you.
