There are many challenges that homesteaders face when trying to build an efficient homestead. You have to know all about building your own home. You also have how to use the land to get what you need to live comfortably.

In this video from Nomadic Medhunter, this guy shows us how he managed to drill his own well. The way he made it work may leave you stunned!

It is unbelievable how they did this! They took two inch PVC pipes and attached it to a water house and put it down into the clay to find and make a well.

He held the pipe into the ground, took off the hose, put on the screen to keep the sand out and water in. Next, he used a cup link but it got stuck in the sand so he had to drill into the PVC pipe. Then he primed the pump to test it out and it worked! If you want to save money on water on your homestead you can try drilling your own well like this.

This only works if your water table is high. Anyone have tips for a water table at 163 ft. or will I just have to hire someone to drill a borehole?

Question: If he had enough water to run a garden hose, why did he need a well….and the reverse question: If you don’t have a water supply already (thus needing a well dug) then how do you dig a well this way?

Can only be done in an area with a very very high water table like he has in Florida, that’s ground water he’s hitting which is better than nothing I guess.
