A survival situation can arise at any moment, anywhere.
While it is impossible to have a Field Bag everywhere, you should always have one reasonably close at hand and absent that, have a few essential items on your person.
A Field Bag is similar to your Bug-Out Bag, but has more items that you will use in a non-emergencies.
Think of it as a shorter-term, less urgent version of your Bug-Out Bag.
You should build your Field Bag by priority of item – keep your medical kit and firearm, communication device, knife and fire materials in easy to access outer compartments.
Inner compartments should hold items like a solar blanket, extra knives, compass, energy bars, maps – stuff you may not need immediately, but will use from time to time.
