(Video) How to Make an Easy and Effective Penny Can Stove That’ll Keep the Chill Away This Winter…

There are times when even the most expensive, most high-tech camp stove will cease to function. The problem with this is that the more advanced a tool is, the more difficult it is to repair.

This isn't good news when you're hungry, cold and need to get some heat going to survive.

Sure, you could build a fire to cook over and to keep yourself warm, but there are often times when a fire simply won't work out. It may be too damp to light a flame, it may be too dark to gather wood, or you may be in an area in which you don't want to draw attention to yourself. Whatever the case, building a fire is not always the most prudent plan.

Luckily, if you have an aluminum can, some stove fuel, and some basic tools, you can build your own high heat camp stove. Check it out in the video on the next page.

The aluminum ones work great, but don’t last with so much heat. Use a thrift store stainless water bottle. Indestructible.

you did an awesome job on it.

Nah. I’ve got a few. It’s just what’s on hand. I’ll get a cheap one stainless water bottle. Kinda fit the cap to the base. Cut to height. I use the ‘middle’ of the bottle with some holes drilled in it as a wind break. The center piece is just a copper plumbing fitting (reduction coupling) as the bad for the pot. I just feel it out as I go…
