If you don't have any twine or rope, you can tie the wood pieces together using some flexible branches. You could also use paracord if you have some in your gear, but because branches can be used instead, we recommend using those and saving your paracord unless its an emergency.

We love what he used to start the fire. Those tealights are very inexpensive and can be found almost anywhere. You can normally get a bag full of them for a few dollars. So great to keep those around in the event of an emergency.

    All good until he said all you need is a Swiss Army knife with a saw. Those were 2″ to 2.5″ branches. You will probably break a small knife if you use it for a rough task like that.
