As said, the whistle in the following video is made from river cane but our host also says they can be made from pithy wood and/or bone tool! If you need to know ley people know where you are, this is the whistle to have on your person!

Isn’t this a great idea? Granted, you could buy a cheap whistle at a dollar store but they never last long and, as a project, this is a great emergency tool.
