It is not our usual fare – hopefully providing practical survival advice, but one of those videos that can serve as a learning instrument to show how things are made.

The reality is in a survival situation, you probably will not have a bunch of time to make a laminated, reflex, deflex, long-bow.

But understanding the components involved can help you understand how to make repairs to a similar item should it need to be maintained during a survival situation.

It also can serve as a framework for if you had to make your own bow – what to use, how to form the bow and what tools you would need.

Plus, if you are like me, watching an artisan make something that complex is just, plain cool and well worth three-plus minutes of your time.
