Granted, there I a lot of drilling involved with this project but if you have a drill, a file, and the cans readily available – you are pretty much there. Then, when finished you have a truly practical homemade gas stove!
The step by step instructions are well-explained and appreciated. Make several for friends and camping buddies! They’ll be so impressed!
Again, there is a lot of drilling but it’s worth it when you see what you have accomplished. Then, to go camping and use your gas stove to keep warm and/or make supper. That’s being a survivor and… inspiring!

Except that’s not a wood gas stove. Wood gas is produced by “cooking” wood in a sealed container and using the gas it produces to run engines or as an actual cooking method. This is simply making a container for making a standard fire for cooking.
