You've worked hard to prepare the things you have, taking care of your land and amassing food and stores with careful planning and focus.
When SHTF, though, all of that work is at risk. Sure, that time is what you have been preparing for, but it is also then that others will attempt to seize all that you've gained through hard work and perseverance.
An easy way to solve this problem is just to arm up, right? Well that's all well and good, but nobody can keep a constant watch on every inch of their borders 24 hours a day.
Eventually, you will get tired and need to catch some shuteye. Even if you trade shifts with others in your survival party, it's in your best interest to have another way to monitor the perimeter.
That's where a tripwire comes into play. Just to be sure you hear it, let's make it an explosive tripwire. Check out the instructive video on the next page.

Sadly the humidity in the deep south would make that worthless in hours.
I feel like if this is triggered in the wrong season, poorly placed, or poorly maintained it could burn down the woods you’ve bugged out to.

Great prank on Dustin when he comes home
You can rig a much smaller devise out of a “party popper” . Pull out the little ignighter, put in a small tube with some black powder, seal with wax, and you’ve got a real excellent little boobytrap.
