Camping out in the wilderness has become a great testing ground for preppers and survivalists. We are always on the look-out for greener pastures, as it were, should the grid go down. Many of us prefer to take our chance out in the woods or wilderness rather than rely on the government. And some camp just for the fun of it.

One thing to always keep in mind, if you plan to stay the night, is pulling together a proper shelter. Certainly, you can always bring along a cumbersome tent, but if you really want to get back to nature, you will build your own!

While you have your campfire going and building up the heat, which will become important for your shelter, you can be out collecting limbs, brush, gathering food, berries, and fishing, etc. And you can also cook a meal on the fire while you are getting all your supplies gathered together!
