(Video) How to Construct a Long-Lasting Traditional Bow

Now, before you freak out and cry about how “traditional” bows are not made with fiberglass and crafted with electricity and band-saws, remember that the bow itself is traditional, not the way it was constructed!

We love all the touches that make this traditional bow extra strong. Would that our forefathers had the know-how and supplies we have today they probably would have been giddy with the prospect of the hunt, knowing their game “did not have a chance,” like the apple demonstration.

Again, we are fortunate to live in times where we can follow the traditions of our ancestors yet celebrate it with 21st-century know how.

I absolutely love old-fashioned bows! The new high tech ones are just too unecesarily complicated. Also I can get back to my welsh roots!

I carved one out of an red oak tree. I’ve decided if I a temp this again I’m using a better choice of timber. This can be a really tough project.
