(VIDEO) How to Build a Stone Age Hut as a SHTF Shelter

bug out shelter

In the Stone Age, there were a variety of shelters that people utilized to stay safe and warm. Natural caves or shelters constructed out of rock were very popular around 100,000 years ago. But once people started changing their settlements along with the seasons, their shelters changed. Shelters needed to be easily transported when the settlements changed their location.

Around 12,000 years ago, there is evidence that people built shelters out of wood instead of rock, which would be an obvious improvement for transport. A wooden frame became the center of the shelter, and it was covered with tree branches, large portions of tree bark, or animal hides.

If you’ve ever considered building your own Stone Age style hut as a SHTF shelter, we’ll show you just how to do it! Watch the video on the next page to see how it’s done.
