Have you ever stopped to consider what you would do with your vehicle got stuck in the mud during a SHTF situation? Sure, you should have been a lot more careful, but it doesn't do any good to dwell on that now. If you happen to have a few supplies, such as a few logs and some rope, you should be able to get yourself out of this mess.

A method that's commonly used is called the flip-flop winch, which is a remarkable and innovative device that can assist with removing large items that may be stuck in a pack. Or, in your case, helping you get unstuck.

Mors Kochanski, who some considered to be the “Godfather of Bushcraft,” helped make this design popular through the years. There is also evidence that this device was used during World World II to help get stuck vehicles out of trenches.

If you're living off the grid and something big gets stuck or is in your path, a flip-flop winch could be your ticket to getting unstuck. Watch the video after the break to learn how!

And you’ll have a wrench all the time, especially in a SHTF situation? And you’ll never need to know a different way to do things?? Oh, and you’ll have a drill to drill the whole, and a bolt to put through the hole and a nut to put on the bolt? Riiiiiiiiiight. Good luck with that.
