One of the most important aspects of surviving, in any circumstance, is finding new and creative ways to utilize your resources. This means you can find a way to make use of anything you have on your person at the time that you found yourself in a survival situation.

What does this mean? Well, if you are in a camping situation, you may have an excess of fire starting materials on your hands.

However, if you're on a hunting trip, that may not be the case if you were sure that you wouldn't get lost (it happens to the best of us).

If you get stuck overnight out in the woods and have limited supplies to start a fire, you're going to want to stretch what you do have as far as possible.
