Occasionally your longterm survival plans are going to call for you to move some heavy objects out of the way. They could be blocking an optimal shelter area, you may want to use them for the funneling game down a particular trail, or you may want to clean out an area on your homestead for gardening.

There is a myriad of reasons that you may need to move that pesky boulder, but there aren't a lot of ways you can do it. Unfortunately, if you don't have a backhoe or a truck winch, you may think you're out of luck.

However, as luck would have it, there is another winching method you could use for moving heavy objects. It's called a flip-flop winch (no relation to the tropical footwear), and it's just as effective as any other method, and only requires two logs and a bit of rope.
