(Video) He Cuts the Top off of a Salt Container. Just How Clever This Kitchen Hack Is? Wow!

cutt-off-sprout

Initially, when being introduced to this hack, I had questions.

It’s a great idea, transferring one product from a relatively insubstantial container that can be easily contaminated, into another container, like a mason jar, that is more significant and free from bacteria and other undesirable materials. Yet, is it really worth it?

In the short run, it may not seem so. If your product gets spoiled just buy a new flimsy container, right? There is plenty of it out there, after all. Yet, in the long run, the solution on the next page is ideal for years-long storage, when the item you need may not be readily available!

What is more, once the lids are changed out, all you have to do is keep the original handy in case your container of — in this case — salt, stays uncontaminated for years after the SHTF!

Then, when it is time to use your container of salt, pop off the inner lid and you have a spout. Pretty darn clever! Check it out on the video after the break!

Whats wrong with leaving it as is? Jar is heavy and glass, if it breaks good luck separating your salt from the glass pieces.
Cardboard can gather miosture so having the cardboard top on the jarmakes little sense either.. try a ziplock …..
