
One problem of long-term survival in a post-EMP or collapsed government world that is seldom discussed are the problems of clothing ourselves when the supply trucks are no longer running. The soles of boots will wear down much more quickly and will need to be replaced. Nowadays, most people just replace the entire shoe when the sole wears down, but in the past and in the SHTF world, it will be cheaper to just replace the sole.

They have been doing this in the Philippines for at least 30 years, thst I know of!! Hell they made sandles and new shoes with tire treads!!
Back in the early 70s tire treads were used for sandles. This really is nothing New.

I had a pair of sandals made from tire tread when I was a little kid in the 70’s,took me 3 years to wear them out!!

My dad used to make sandals like this. He used laminated strips of inner tubes for the uppers and tire tread for the sole
