One of the most important survival skills a person could possess in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was the ability to remain invisible and undetectable.
The situation was so chaotic with looters and worse running amok until the authorities got their act together, that discovery was almost a guaranteed invitation to trouble.
The greater your ability to “lay low” and only venture out when absolutely necessary, the greater your chance of making it through the turmoil unscathed.
This reality applied to desperate street thugs as well as to civil authorities who likely would have shipped you to the hell on earth that was the Louisiana Superdome, an anarchic brew of predators and the preyed upon.
