Within reason, most of us are interested in alternate ways to “go green” if it is not too much of an inconvenience or does not cost too much.

If going green means saving money as well, well, that is just all the more reason to do it. This particularly applies to heating your home.

The last few winters in the northeast, where I live, have been brutal and even while mostly heating with wood, the utility bills have been sky high.

One way to lower your utility bills and go green is the awesome invention Jim Meaney of Cansolair, Incorporated came up with.

This invention uses discarded aluminum soda cans as “core heating elements in solar panels.”
