(VIDEO) For Emergency Food, This Survivalist Shows You How to Eat Grub Worms

When you’re out in the woods, slowly starving and trying to remember which plants look familiar to the edible listings in your plant reference guide, you can’t afford to be picky. Not in the sense that you should stop worrying whether the plant is poisonous and just eat the plant – please, don’t do that – but in the sense that if you find some living creature that you know is not toxic, you’re just gonna have to eat it.

Take, for instance, a grub worm. Not very pretty. Most hardcore survivalists will see no problem with popping one of these guys in their mouth for a mid-hike snack, but the average person might struggle.

Grub worms, and almost any insect in the larval stage are loaded with amino acids and minerals. They are rich in fats, protein, and finding a handful can be the difference between starvation and sustenance.
