In the wilderness fire can be started many different ways. Everything from bringing along a book of matches, waterproof or otherwise, fire steel, rubbing stick together, sudden lightening… and a fire plow!

Never heard of this last one? It takes a little muscle but for the more robust of us, or as a last resort; it can be a life saver!

Even if it is not your style, learning how to make a fire plow is really a great survival tool. You never know when, for whatever reason, your normal method of fire-starting will escape you and a fire plow is needed.
