[VIDEO] Essential Gear for Bushcrafting

bushcraft basics

Any time you venture out into the bush, or even if the “bush” to you is a weekend camping trip or day hike, being prepared for the anticipated and unanticipated is critical.

All too often, though, we over-load with gear, trying to anticipate everything, when in reality, survival in all but the harshest of conditions demands a minimalist approach.

In some cases, overloading poses its own risks or at least inconveniences.

Anyone who has done it on a long hike to a backcountry camping site or fishing/hunting location can attest to what I mean – lugging “tons” of gear gets old after hours of working your way through brush, especially if it is hot or the terrain tough to navigate.

Keeping it simple in most cases is the best approach to bushcrafting, and in the video on the next page, we cover the minimal basics you need to travel comfortably and address most survival challenges.
