If you are at one with the wilderness, a hiker, hunter or camper, you know one of the most important tools in your arsenal is a colossally good knife. It can be used for so many things from chopping wood, gutting fish, to creating tinder for your nightly fire.
Many survivalists have a good knife but few really know how to clean and sharpen them. Certainly, you can take your knife to a professional and have him do it for you – but why when it’s so easy to sharpen it on your own?

dont worry, you are missing nothing.
Seriously ? It would take a hell of a long time to do this without a coarse stone and it would be pointless. Yes a convex grind is generaly stronger than others, but it suffers for finer work and is actualy the hardest to learn. A flat bevel is the easiest to maintain by far. I prefer a Scandi as im always needing to make faether sticks.
