I live in a West Virginia, they are quite a few cases monthly here. As for myself, I’ve been bitten twice ( guess they like me ) it is NOT a very good experience to say the least. Got bitten one time under my watch band while in the woods hunting. Second time at a near by State Park on the knee cap. Both times I was hospitalized for 7 days first time,8 days second time. I wish this on no one. At first I didn’t know what it was,but the second time I did. It feels like a yellow jacket sting, yeah it’s that sharpe. A black dot started almost immediately, with red around it. The bite starts melting the flesh around it. They can be very tiny spiders or full grown. Beware!
