The key to surviving a SHTF situation is being able to improvise and use whatever is at hand to get what you need done.
Being able to improvise and adapt is something we teach our military and most survival training schools place a major emphasis on both.
In short, improvisation and adaptation can be the two most critical skills someone facing a SHTF or survival situation can possess.
It might even mean the difference between making it out in one piece – or not at all.
Using whatever is had hand means a lot of things.
It could mean using a Coke can to pick a padlock, an orange and vegetable oil to make a lamp or steel wool and a battery to start a fire.
