(Video) Check Out a Survival Shotgun That Can Fire 12 Different Calibers and Fits in a Bug Out Bag

How often have you gone out into the wilderness, planning to do some big game hunting, and see a perfect target but decide to let it go. It has to be done because you have brought the wrong rifle! If the bullet is too big and powerful it just might blow that rabbit or wild turkey to pieces rather than giving you a nice chunk of meat for the stew-pot tonight.

Or, the opposite might happen. The caliber in your weapon is too small and if you see that incredible moose, just perfect in your site, and waiting to be taken down, you know that 22 calibers won't do the job!

You can, of course, bring a bunch of different weapons with you but that is awkward and who needs the extra weight? And no, bringing your dim nephew Sam with you, just to hold your weapons, is not fair!

We think we’ve found the solution to your problem in the Chiappa M6 Survival shotgun/rifle! It has an X-Caliber conversion kit and it really is one of the cleverest weapons we’ve ever seen. It can shoot nearly any caliber and it’s sturdy and light to boot.

After the break go over to the next page and take a look. You WILL be impressed!

A gimmick and nothing more. It is impractical to carry a bunch of adapters and then ammunition for each one. Also it is not a gun you are going to take moose hunting nor is it a balanced all around firearm. For the trouble of putting up with it a person could carry a revolver and a shotgun and be better off in the long run.

Pretty nifty, but damn they’re a pretty penny! With 8 inserts, it’s about 1000 bucks. I wonder if they’re accurate.

Yea. For that much I’ll buy a 22 Buckmark and a 12 gauge single shot. I think HR makes inserts for their shotguns.

But its not impractical to be able to pick up any ammo you may find and be able to use it.
The 5 adapters way less than a pound have thete own pouch and give an edge i. Scavenging

Great truck gun, and as far as ammo scavenging goes this combo is king.

Iv shot one and honestly it’s one of the most unpleasant/painful guns iv ever shot. The stock is made of cheap styrofoam and jagged metal, 12gauge kills your shoulder and those were only target loads, forget shooting full power shells out of this thing. Never mind the price, fancy or not it a fucking single shot. 640$ is insane. That is about than I paid for my ksg for god sake.
For the price, your better off just getting a 100$ single barrel 12 and using the caliber inserts in that.

The inserts are essentially are the barrel for the smaller ammo: the length is short and velocities suffer for it.

Too expensive for a truck gun and if the situation is bad enough that you have to scavenge ammo then your life is very near to what will most likely be a violent end. Now another mark against it is that the adapters are for lower pressure handgun cartridges in a relatively short length and depending upon the locking system’s pressure rating it may fail if adapters chambered in more power rifle cartridges are used. The sights on this gun also severely limits it’s max effective range as well as accuracy. While it may do in a pinch there are better and cheaper platforms available. In conclusion it is nothing more than am over priced gimmick that has many more short comings than advantages.

That was the first thing i said too. Then i thought, Those are pistol calibers and pistol barrels are about the lenth of the drop in’s for this gun.

That could be the answer, Justin. I have several calibers, but carrying seveal separate long-weapons is way impractical. Thank you for sharing this with me.

680.00 on cheaper than dirt. 100 bucks less if you get the 20 guage which is not a bad idea if you can run 3″ shells
