If your survival strategy or bug out plan involves transportation, of any kind, it is critical that your ride be dependable, inexpensive and able to handle any number of environmental factors it might experience as you get to where you need to go.

While we all would like a Humvee, the reality is most of us just simply cannot afford to have a “side luxury SUV” for a bug-out moment and because of that, have to look at less expensive options.

One very legitimate possibility is the Honda CRV.

I know, but hear me out.

The CRV is a Honda, thus very dependable. It is inexpensive; you can get a used one for thousands as opposed to tens of thousands of dollars. It is rugged – in all but the most challenging off-road circumstances.
