When bugging out in nature, most survivalists know to seek out a pine tree because it can keep them alive when SHTF. The branches of a pine tree can be used as kindling for a fire, and there's also the resin which they can use as chewing gun and glue for bush crafting tasks.

Most pine trees have an inner layer of bark that can be cut out and eaten as well. The wood is also ideal for crafting projects since it's flexible, durable, and lightweight. It's also very resilient to the elements.

When a survivalist is bugging out and is building a SHTF shelter, a pine tree's needles are ideal to utilize as a soft bed and a layer on the top of a shelter's roof. However, a prepper may be overlooking another incredible resource: using pine nuts from a pine tree.

Break open a pine cone, and there are pine nuts that have tons of healthy proteins and fats. In fact, after the break check out a video that'll show you how to harvest pine nuts and eat them during a collapse.
