Whether the injury is a superficial cut or a deep puncture, you need immediate care. If you are hiking or camping in the wilderness that care will come in whatever it is you brought with you. In other words, be prepared for this eventuality. Pack a First Aid kit of some kind into your backpack or bug-out bag.
