Thumbdial: Finding a Way Through the Fog After Being Lost

Thumbdial Shadow

There is nothing wrong with getting lost. We have all done it at one time or another. But it’s important is not to lose your head if it happens. Finding your way back may depend on wilderness smarts rather than a real sense of direction.

Of course, we are not talking about being lost in traffic! It's when you take one of those long, head-clearing walks in the woods or wasteland, and suddenly discover – as you were daydreaming – you lost your way.

All trees and shrubs begin to look alike, and if you did not mark your way, bring a compass, or follow a path, you could be in trouble.

Worse yet is when a mist sets in, and you can see nothing! Again, do not panic! If you were, at least, prepped enough to bring a knife with you then your situation may not be as bad as you think.

After the break learn about what you can do to get you back to your camp or car after getting lost in the fog.
