When deciding to become a survivalist we all know to what degree we are going to extend ourselves. It can be a “weekend warrior” with hiking trips into the wilderness or the “stay at home” survivalist who cans fruits and veggies for safe keeping.

Then there are those who go that extra mile, really look at their surroundings. They plant that garden, build that BBQ pit, and create a water storage system all their own, etc. We salute you!

And now, we come to the crème la crème of survivalists.

This man did not just convert a basement into a bunker, which is awesome enough, but actually went all out and built a bunker! He had to go through many obstacles, building permits, pouring concrete and – hardest of all – convincing his skeptical wife it was something worth their while, but he got it done!

His story is both amazing in his persistence and pretty funny, told with a good sense of humor.
