Do It Yourself skills are a must if you are planning on encountering a survival situation, especially a long-term incident.

If the grid went completely down and it took months to repair, for example, eventually, no matter how well prepared you are, your equipment will wear out, and your supplies become depleted.

When that happens you will have a choice: Do without or Do It Yourself.

The guy in the video on the next page has used several diverse items – a used garment bag, Home Depot bags and miscellaneous straps, hooks and velcro to fashion his own backpack!
