This guy from the video below has his own “homestead” set up, which is interesting to see, but the purpose of the video is the hand splitter he employs to cut his wood down to manageable sizes.

It would be a lot of work, but that is one of the things you have to consider if you decide to heat by wood.

Undoubtedly, if you had a lot of wood, this hand splitter would not be ideal – you would be better off using a gas powered splitter.

But if you only needed a moderate amount of wood and wanted a work out, this would work.

It also would work well for those who only occasionally wanted to use wood for a fireplace or campfire.
