We tend to think of a cowboy or cowgirl as a person from the past, one of those tough men or ladies who rode the range, steering cattle in the correct direction and corralling them! They did all that but they were also survivalists who lived through it all.
These were the men and women who rode their horses for miles while sleeping in the wilderness for days and even weeks with nothing more than a blanket and a campfire.
It's obvious that they carried more with them than just that, which will be revealed in this article. They had to be prepared to survive but also could not carry bulky items. It was all about the bare essentials!
To find out which essentials they carried with them check out the next page. We rough it today in preparation of a collapse but we can always learn more from the cowboys and cowgirls from yesteryear!
