In a severe, long-term survival situation, diseases we currently have in control, through our stellar medical system, will become very real, viable and dangerous threats.

As infrastructure breaks down, diseases like Malaria, Typhoid, Cholera, dysentery and Tuberculosis will inevitably rear their ugly heads and affect anyone not prepared to fight them off.

This reality is true even in developed countries.

For example, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, there were multiple cases of Cholera and Tuberculosis reported.

There was standing, brackish water, raw sewage, flooded basements and displaced rodents and people – the elixir for a disease outbreak.

And Katrina, as bad as it was, really was a regional, isolated case of natural disaster and devastation – imagine if that happened to an entire swath of America – say, Boston, MA to Washington, DC.
