The Summer Power Outage and How to Deal With It

Almost everyone has some sort of survival cache for if the power goes out in the winter; we have our generator, snow shovels, ways of generating heat, etc.

But are we prepared for a power outage in the summer?

A prolonged (longer than a few hours) power outage in the summer can be as dangerous and poses an equal number – if different – set of threats to your well-being.

For example, in the Winter, dealing with cold can be remedied by fire, layers of clothing, drinking hot liquids, exercising, etc.

What, though, about dealing with extreme heat in the summer?

That requires a completely different skill set and not addressing it can lead to heat exhaustion, or worse, and certainly a level of discomfort you are not accustomed to dealing with.
