The Optimal States to Head to When All Hell Breaks Loose

best-places-to-bug-out-in-the-united-states

Just about every prepper has a “bug out” strategy, a plan in place for what to do when a survival crisis takes place and it's vital to move to a safer location (or even bug in).

Some may not consider where to go beyond “the camp” or another predesignated safe space.

So, will your bug out location cut it for long-term survival? And what obstacles and threats will exist in the world that could affect your quality of life? What is the optimal place to head to?

These types of questions are not asked often enough, especially if there's already a bug out location planned out.

However, knowing where to go in a pivotal survival situation or post-collapse is vital as knowing how to get there.

To discover what one man's opinion is on where the optimal places are to head in a survival situation as well as the best states, check out the following slide.

Nothing say I love the USA more than selling 20% of the US uranium to Russia. Seems a bit treasonous doesn’t it? Liberals are such hippocrates.

    Liberal’s.

South central kentucky looks like the place for. Many valleys with farmlands small towns that can be closed to easy access. By felling trees across lines of communications

…that was the worst list I’ve seen. Several of their “top choices” are deserts (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Nevada)! Ya good luck growing food in arid soil and summers that average 110 and all suffer from water shortages. The Dakotas…sure, assuming in SHTF setting the tribes don’t lock it all down. And California?!?! Really? The most liberal state in the Union isn’t going to go all batshit MORE than it is in a crisis??? Common man!

These are always an interesting read. I don’t always agree with the conclusions (at least not completely) but reading about the reasoning and logic behind why these folks believe what they do on lists like this definitely allows for better insight and planning with regards to our own personal “best places” to live because any list like that is influenced by a million little things as well as a few big ones, things like proximity to family/friends, cost of living is a huge consideration, access to resources or things needed/necessary for jobs or personal vocation etc. Good read and informative for sure but you just can’t treat lists like this as definitive

So these are all of the places I won’t go, because now the majority of the people will be going to these places.

These list are always wrong. DO NOT follow them. Since my wife and I live in Montana, we think you should all go somewhere else!!!!!

The fact that California is on the list discredits this whole thing. Commifornia gets so little rainfall and it is severely overpopulated.

I agree with Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. The closer to the coast line the better. All of these states combined have a population of only around 17 million for all that land. Lots of natural resources, a lack of natural desasteres and fertile soil make the North West the perfect place.

California will be destroyed fron the inside out because terrorist, Illegal immigrants, and other criminals are welcome here. Basically the sheep are allowing the wolves to come in packs.

Not to mention the underwater places after New Madrid. And then Tn. We have 2 Islamic training camps, a huge Islamic presence, Russian and Chinese. That map is retarded.

This has to be one of the single most intelligent comments I’ve read on a survival page in regards to article of this nature. I found a lot of things you said to be things I have thought about other such articles.
I don’t believe any one list or plan is going to work for everyone. The same as all gear is going to work for everyone. So many factors decide these things for each person and their location. The true gift is being able to see their logic and perspective and learn something from it.

I’m surprised the mountain ranges such as the Adirondacks or the Green Mountains and the nearby communities were not mentioned…
