Spiders are a big fear of many people. The reason people are so afraid of spiders is likely because they have been conditioned to fear then since they were young. In fact, many children are taught at an early age that if they encounter a spider to snuff it out with a paper towel. Otherwise, that spider might make it into their bed later that night.
Plus, let's not forget the horror movies (mostly crapfest movies, but I digress), where spiders are cast as the main antagonist. It's hard to miss a giant spider that terrorizes everyone on screen all the while killing off half of the people or saving them for dinner later in his web (here's looking at you Frodo and Ron Weasley).
Jokes aside, most spiders will not harm you. However, that doesn't mean there aren't several other types of spiders that do cause injury, thus resulting in many people to develop a phobia of them.
Venomous spiders can indeed bite if they feel threatened and for the very unlucky souls, occasional spider bites can lead to a terrifying death sentence.

“Daddy long legs” are actually just cellar spiders . And the other arachnids know as daddy long legs , the red ones, actually have no fangs
And just to put this info out. Most brown recluse bites are miss diagnosed that’s why so much damage is done , propel will just assume , give the anti venom then wonder why it doesn’t work. Over 90 percent of brown recluse bites are miss diagnosed because they rarely bite . Second only about 1-2 % of the world population is effected by the black widow (if bit still go to the damn doctor) . And third the only spiders to have any recorded deaths sense like 98 is the Brazilian wondering spider (south America) and the Sydney funnel web(Australia)
