Knowing that Doomsday has arrived and that you're now experiencing it real time is a hard pill to swallow, especially if you have a lack of resources and survival knowledge.
You can absolutely pack plenty of MRE's in your bug out bag, but after you use them all, and if you haven't already gotten lost or thrown off course due to inclement weather, you'll likely be hunting for food when those MRE's run out.
